Financial Controller – Remote, $100k/year

About the role

Lead global finance operations for Trilogy’s Central Finance team, overseeing a group of Senior Accountants while staying hands‑on with invoices, payments, reconciliations and allocations. You will diagnose accounting errors, coach the team to prevent repeats, and drive AI‑enabled automation across high‑volume finance workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Run day‑to‑day finance operations, prioritising work by deadlines, business impact and financial risk.
• Inspect finance dashboards and outputs to ensure accuracy of bills, invoices, payments, bank transactions, reconciliations, control accounts, revenue and spend allocations.
• Diagnose quality failures, identify root causes (data, system, accounting treatment or process), and produce evidence‑based coaching.
• Identify and implement AI, LLM and automation solutions to eliminate manual work and improve speed and accuracy.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience with at least five Big 4 audits, either as auditor or client.
• Finance experience in an organization with ≥ $100 M revenue and direct people‑management responsibility.
• Hands‑on experience across AP, AR, bank reconciliations, control‑account reconciliations and revenue/spend allocation.

Required skills

• Embedding AI or LLM tools into high‑volume finance transaction workflows with measurable efficiency gains.
• Building finance workflow automations using platforms such as n8n, Lovable or Claude Code.
