Fraud Analyst – Post‑Transaction Review & Data Analytics

About the role

The Fraud Analyst will lead post‑transaction reviews of suspected fraud incidents, such as account takeover and identity misuse, within Mashreq Pakistan’s Client Experience and Conduct Group. The role combines investigative work with data‑driven analysis to detect emerging fraud patterns and support rule‑enhancement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed reviews of flagged transactions and investigate system/database logs for fraud indicators.
• Analyse case‑level data using SQL and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to identify trends and propose rule changes.
• Produce and maintain dashboards and MIS reports on loss patterns, alert volumes, and operational bottlenecks.
• Develop daily trend reports for EFM systems, ticketing platforms and transaction monitoring.
• Support process automation initiatives and act as backup for the transaction‑monitoring system.
• Collaborate with the strategy team to translate analytical insights into actionable fraud‑prevention measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (4‑year program).
• At least 1 year of experience in fraud detection, risk management, payments or a similar domain, preferably in banking or fintech.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Knowledge of data‑science techniques and machine‑learning concepts.
• Familiarity with fraud‑detection tools and process‑automation concepts.
