Government Relations Manager

About the role

IPC Group is looking for an experienced Government Relations Manager to lead regulatory engagement, ensure statutory compliance, and nurture institutional relationships across its petrochemical and chemical trading businesses. The role safeguards business continuity and facilitates smooth interaction with government bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with federal and provincial authorities such as FBR, SECP, Ministry of Commerce, Customs, and environmental agencies on behalf of the company.
• Track, interpret, and advise senior leadership on regulatory changes affecting the petrochemical and chemical sectors.
• Manage license renewals, permits, NOCs, and all statutory filings.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, trade bodies, and industry associations.
• Represent IPC Group in government consultations, hearings, and industry forums.
• Coordinate with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Monitor policy developments in trade, tax, environment, and import/export, assessing their impact on the business.
• Prepare briefing notes, position papers, and correspondence for senior management and the Board.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Policy, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or regulatory roles, preferably within petrochemicals, manufacturing, or trading.
• Strong network within relevant government departments and regulatory bodies.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.
• Sound understanding of Pakistan's regulatory and trade policy landscape.
