Head of Retail Banking

About the role

The Head of Retail will own the full end‑to‑end Retail Banking franchise, covering traditional retail, Neo (digital retail), NeoBiz (digital SME), Payments/Digital, Cards & CCPL, and ecosystem‑led revenue streams. The role operates like a mini‑CEO, responsible for P&L, growth, product strategy, digital commercialization and customer lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Retail Banking P&L and drive revenue through digital monetisation, card/payments economics, cross‑sell, SME and merchant streams.
• Build and optimise digital acquisition funnels (acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, monetisation) and run continuous A/B testing.
• Translate branch expertise into scalable digital sales engines, self‑serve journeys and contextual cross‑sell.
• Collaborate with product and engineering squads to deliver modern digital banking architecture (APIs, micro‑services, cloud‑native stacks, real‑time data pipelines).
• Lead payments strategy, ecosystem partnerships and embedded finance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field (MBA preferred).
• 15+ years of Retail Banking experience with senior leadership in sales and distribution, preferably in Pakistan.
• Proven track record of strong P&L performance and digital growth.
• Deep understanding of Pakistani customer behaviour, deposit dynamics and market realities.

• APIs and micro‑services architecture.
• Cloud‑native platforms and real‑time data pipelines.
• eKYC, biometrics and real‑time risk scoring.
• Experience working with product, engineering and data teams in agile environments.
