Head of Transaction Banking Services – Director level

About the role

This senior position leads Citi's Services (Transaction Banking) business in Pakistan, shaping market strategy, driving revenue growth and overseeing digital innovation. The role sits on both the MEP Services sub‑cluster leadership team and the Citi Country Management team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute short‑ and long‑term Services strategy for Pakistan, aligned with global objectives.
• Deliver revenue, EBIT and expense targets while overseeing sales, product, operations and technology teams.
• Lead client acquisition, retention and wallet‑share expansion across Financial Institutions, Public Sector, Corporate and Commercial segments.
• Maintain full responsibility for product, operational, conduct and compliance risk management and regulatory relationships.
• Build and lead a high‑performing, diverse Services team, driving talent strategy and culture.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in financial services, with 10+ years in senior managerial roles.
• Proven success leading country‑level or cluster‑level business strategy and delivering financial results.
• Strong risk and governance track record, including product, operational, conduct and compliance risk management.
• Executive‑level communication skills for internal and external audiences, including regulators and senior clients.
• University degree (Bachelor’s minimum).

Required skills

• Deep expertise in transaction banking – cash management, trade services and/or custody products.
• Experience navigating complex emerging‑market regulatory environments.
• Financial acumen for business planning and financial case preparation.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal).
