IGCSE A-Level Chemistry Teacher

About the role

Pak Turk Maarif International Schools & Colleges is looking for an IGCSE A-Level Chemistry Teacher in Islamabad. The teacher will foster an interactive and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and academic excellence. The role does not involve team management, but the teacher is expected to contribute positively to the school community and keep improving their teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons following the IGCSE and A-Level curriculum frameworks.
• Explain complex scientific concepts clearly to students with diverse learning abilities.
• Prepare students for theory and practical examinations, including lab assessments.
• Incorporate hands-on laboratory work using advanced analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS and FTIR.
• Monitor, assess and report on student progress regularly.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Develop teaching materials and resources tailored to individual students and curriculum objectives.
• Stay up to date with developments in Chemistry education and assessment standards within the Cambridge framework.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to improve curriculum delivery and share best practices.
• Communicate with students and parents about academic progress, attendance and behaviour.
• Adhere to school policies, safety regulations and educational best practices.
• Participate in professional development and training, assist with laboratory setups and equipment maintenance, and support students' critical thinking and scientific inquiry skills.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills to meet diverse student needs and work with school staff.
• Relevant teaching qualifications are considered an advantage.
