Import Executive – Pharmaceutical Imports

About the role

We are seeking an Import Executive to manage the end‑to‑end import process for pharmaceutical ingredients and veterinary products at our Lahore manufacturing facility. The role ensures timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and cost‑effective coordination with suppliers and logistics partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate international purchase orders with suppliers and internal teams, confirming specifications, quantities and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and manage import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading/airway bills and customs declarations.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers and clearing agents to secure timely clearance and minimise demurrage.
• Track shipments, monitor lead times and resolve transit or supplier issues to protect production schedules.
• Ensure compliance with Pakistani import regulations and health‑authority requirements for APIs, excipients and veterinary products.
• Reconcile import‑related invoices, support cost allocation and collaborate with purchasing and accounts teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling pharmaceutical or regulated imports, including documentation and customs clearance.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan customs rules, import duties, permits and required certificates for pharmaceutical ingredients.
• Familiarity with international shipping terms (Incoterms) and air and sea freight processes.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with suppliers, freight agents, QA and finance.
• Ability to prioritise multiple shipments, work under deadlines and resolve logistics exceptions.
