Junior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our security team on a 6 pm‑3 am shift. This position offers hands‑on exposure to vulnerability assessment, penetration‑testing support, and security‑operations while working closely with senior engineers and the offensive security lead.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in performing vulnerability assessments and basic penetration tests under senior guidance.
• Support the offensive security team with reconnaissance, scanning, and reporting tasks.
• Monitor security alerts and help triage potential incidents.
• Help maintain and configure security tools such as vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, SAST and SCA tools.
• Document findings clearly and contribute to vulnerability/penetration test reports.
• Participate in patch management and remediation tracking.
• Stay current with emerging threats, CVEs, and attacker techniques.
• Support security awareness initiatives and basic security hardening tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls).
• Familiarity with common security tools (Nmap, Burp Suite, Wireshark, Metasploit) is a plus.
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerability classes.
• Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and written communication skills.
