Junior Mechanical Engineer – Electric 2-Wheelers

About the role

Voltrides is looking for a curious and motivated junior mechanical engineer to join its team working on reliable and efficient electric 2-wheelers for Pakistan's growing EV market. The position is based in Rawat Industrial Area, Islamabad, and offers strong prospects of conversion to a permanent position for candidates who show professionalism, software design and modeling skills and a good sense of humour.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical design and 3D CAD modelling of motorcycle components using SolidWorks or equivalent software.
• Perform structural, thermal and modal analysis in ANSYS for strength, weight and cost.
• Support design calculations, material selection and tolerance checks.
• Take part in hands-on R&D, including concept testing, design iterations and experimental builds.
• Develop prototypes through fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
• Support bench and road testing, record test data and help with failure analysis.
• Prepare engineering drawings, BOMs, test reports and technical documentation, and maintain revision records.
• Support DFMA and the move from prototype to production-ready products, and help prepare assembly procedures and work instructions.
• Support supplier coordination, incoming component inspection and quality checks.
• Coordinate with electrical, production and procurement teams and take part in design reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or automotive engineering (or related field).
• Ideally a final-year project or semester project related to EVs.
• Prior hands-on experience of 6 months to 1 year in the field is a must.
• Ability to work full-time in Rawat Industrial Area, Islamabad.
• Can ride a motorbike and perform product testing on the road.

Required skills

• CAD, CAM, CAE, CFD and FEA software: SolidWorks, ANSYS, Creo, CATIA, Fusion 360, Blender.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as fabrication, 3D printing, plastic moulding and CNC machining.
• Familiarity with the mechanical design component supply chain for electric 2-wheelers.
