KiCad Specialist – Remote Contractor

About the role

This remote, hourly contractor position focuses on creating realistic KiCad tasks to train advanced AI models. You will design, document, and record practical PCB design workflows using KiCad and SuperAnnotate.

Key responsibilities

• Design realistic, challenging KiCad tasks (schematics, component placement, routing, Gerber generation, etc.) and document them clearly in SuperAnnotate.
• Prepare your workstation with KiCad, required libraries, project files, and assets before recording.
• Record yourself executing the task, ensuring the workflow is clear, complete, and realistic.
• Provide comprehensive task context, steps, goals, and references for reviewers.
• Review recordings and documentation for quality and alignment with project guidelines.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with KiCad for schematic design, PCB layout, footprint assignment, routing, design‑rule checks, and Gerber export.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher for understanding instructions and documenting tasks.
• Ability to devise realistic KiCad tasks that reflect real‑world electronics and hardware development use cases.
• High attention to detail and reliable, self‑directed work style suitable for remote, hourly contracting.
