Laboratory Technician – Mobile Clinic

About the role

Normeca International AS is running a healthcare project in Pakistan, the "Mobile Multi-Diagnostic Clinic / Mini Hospital", in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank and the Government of Pakistan. The project uses fully equipped mobile clinics in trailers that deliver diagnostic services and minor procedures to communities in the KPK and Sindh regions. It is looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician in Qambar Shahdadkot, Sindh, to carry out laboratory tests that support patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry and urinalysis.
• Prepare and analyse samples accurately and precisely.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Record and report test results in a timely and accurate way.
• Follow laboratory protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and protect patients and staff.
• Help manage laboratory supplies and inventory.
• Work with healthcare professionals to interpret and discuss test results.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and stay up to date with laboratory techniques.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling mobile medical units at different locations.

Required profile

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid certification as a Laboratory Technician.
• Proven experience as a Laboratory Technician.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment and safety protocols.
• Attention to detail, good communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently and in a rural setting.
• English proficiency is an advantage.
