Legal Counsel

About the role

Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO) is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Legal Counsel to strengthen its legal function. The role involves providing legal advisory support, overseeing contractual matters, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting the company’s legal and commercial interests.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review, vetting and negotiation of contracts, agreements and other legal documents to ensure enforceability and protection of PARCO’s interests.
• Identify legal and commercial risks in contractual terms, recommend safeguards and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, regulatory requirements and business-related matters.
• Support strategic initiatives, special projects and commercial transactions by conducting due diligence and mitigating legal risks.
• Safeguard intellectual property rights, monitor legal developments and advise on their business implications.
• Supervise and develop the Legal team, manage litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent from an HEC‑recognized institution.
• Up to 12 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate legal affairs, contract drafting, negotiation, commercial law and regulatory compliance, preferably in a large corporate or energy‑related organization.
• Strong analytical, research and negotiation skills with the ability to provide practical, business‑oriented solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
