About the role
JazzCash is looking for a Manager Regulatory Engagement to act as the trusted bridge between the company and its regulators, primarily the State Bank of Pakistan. Reporting to the Head of Legal Affairs, you will lead licensing, approvals and regulatory issue resolution while ensuring that regulatory expectations are embedded into business decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day engagement with the State Bank of Pakistan, building credible relationships across its departments and representing JazzCash in regulatory meetings, consultations and industry forums.
- Own material regulatory issues from assessment through resolution, preparing briefing notes, talking points and evidence‑based positions, and driving timely closure.
- Lead or support applications for licences, approvals, permissions, no‑objection certificates and product clearances.
- Coordinate responses to regulatory queries, observations, information requests, inspections and reviews in partnership with Compliance, Risk, Product, Finance, Technology and Operations.
- Advise on regulatory implications of new products, partnerships and business models across digital payments, wallets, lending, BNPL, insurance and adjacent fintech offerings.
- Review regulatory correspondence, submissions and legal documents, providing practical, risk‑based solutions.
- Monitor emerging legal and regulatory developments, assess business impact and coordinate internal implementation of new requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, public policy, law or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5‑8 years of post‑qualification experience in banking, payments, electronic money, fintech or related financial services.
- Demonstrable experience engaging with the State Bank of Pakistan and handling regulatory issues, approvals or licensing processes.
- Strong professional network across Pakistan’s financial services and regulatory ecosystem.
- Deep understanding of Pakistan’s legal and regulatory framework for digital financial services and fintech products.
- Excellent stakeholder‑management skills, able to build trust and handle senior or sensitive discussions.
- Based in Karachi with flexibility to travel to Islamabad and other locations as needed.
