Librarian – Medical College

About the role

The college is seeking an experienced Librarian to manage both physical and digital library resources for students and faculty. The role involves ensuring seamless access to academic materials and supporting research activities within a medical education environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organise, catalogue, classify, and maintain physical and digital collections.
• Provide access to online journals, e‑books, databases and digital reference materials.
• Manage the digital library portal, user accounts and subscription services.
• Assist students and faculty in locating and using research resources.
• Maintain a clean, disciplined, and conducive library environment.
• Coordinate procurement of books, journals and digital subscriptions.
• Supervise support staff and keep accurate inventory and usage records.

Required profile

• Master's in Library & Information Science (MLIS) from a recognised university.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a medical college, university or academic institution.
• Strong command of library automation, classification schemes, cataloguing and indexing.
