Manager Shariah Compliance

About the role

The Manager Shariah Compliance supports the Head of Shariah Compliance in implementing and monitoring the Shariah Governance Framework for Easypaisa Bank Ltd. The role ensures day‑to‑day compliance with Shariah principles across all products, processes and business activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operationalising the Shariah Governance & Compliance Framework and monitor compliance with Shariah Board directives.
• Conduct preliminary Shariah compliance reviews of products, services, contracts and SOPs, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
• Carry out Shariah research, maintain records of rulings and draft compliance notes and advisories.
• Verify profit‑distribution mechanisms for depositors to ensure Shariah compliance before disbursement.
• Draft responses to Shariah‑related queries from customers, regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal and external Shariah audits, compile management responses and track corrective actions.
• Support enforcement of corrective actions prescribed by the Shariah Board and maintain issue tracking.
• Ensure Shariah‑related disclosures are updated on the bank’s website and submit required information to the State Bank of Pakistan.
• Assist HR in developing Shariah training material and deliver awareness sessions for staff.

Required profile

• Graduate degree specializing in Islamic Banking and Finance or Shahadat‑ul‑Aalamiyah (Dars‑e‑Nizami) with relevant exposure.
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in Islamic Banking, Shariah Compliance, Advisory or Finance.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Shariah Governance Framework and SBP regulations.
• Experience in conducting Shariah compliance reviews, research and documentation.
