Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work remotely on the creation of detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings for custom mechanical components. The position is contract‑based and offers an hourly rate between $40 and $100. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet production requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components using FreeCAD.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and improve production processes.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including bills of materials and engineering change orders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
