Mechanical Engineer – Operations & Maintenance

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will lead manufacturing operations on a shift or across multiple production lines, ensuring that volume, quality and cost targets are met. Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, the role combines hands‑on equipment maintenance with project execution and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical equipment such as pumps, gears, conveyors, sifters, dryers, elevators, mills, centrifuges, fans and compressors.
• Design mechanical systems and apply maintenance techniques including alignment, balancing and condition monitoring.
• Create, schedule and execute preventive and condition‑based maintenance plans using SAP.
• Manage critical spare‑parts inventory, generate purchase requisitions and track deliveries.
• Lead capex/MOC projects, prepare feasibility reports, BOQs and oversee procurement and safe execution.
• Implement EHS standards, conduct risk assessments and ensure a safe working environment.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and recommend new equipment or methods.
• Develop and mentor the engineering and services team, fostering a collaborative and self‑motivated culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–7 years of hands‑on experience in operations and maintenance within petro‑chemical, fertilizer, process or food industries.
• Proven ability to manage projects, contracts and compliance with GMP/IMS requirements.
