Medical Coding Trainee

About the role

MED AI is looking for motivated individuals to join its team in Chakwal as Medical Coding Trainees. This full‑time, on‑site role provides hands‑on training in medical coding, documentation review, and compliance while working alongside experienced coders.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and apply ICD‑10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines to patient records.
• Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Assign appropriate medical codes under senior coder supervision.
• Identify and report documentation discrepancies for clarification.
• Support compliance with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and coding standards.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software effectively.
• Participate in quality assurance reviews and coding audits.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and industry standards.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate with a healthcare degree (e.g., DPT, MBBS, Pharm‑D, BDS, BS Nursing or related).
• Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ICD‑10 coding.
• Familiarity with CPT coding.
• Familiarity with HCPCS coding.
• Experience with EHR systems or coding software.
