Medical Officer - Cardiology

About the role

Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College is hiring a Medical Officer for its Cardiology department. The post holder supports the consultant in outpatient care, takes patient histories, gives referrals and follows departmental and hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Take initial and ongoing check-ups of patients, including medical history, and document findings for the patient file
• Assist the assigned consultant in OPDs and keep them informed of patients' conditions and changes
• Enquire into patients' illnesses using scientific knowledge and medical history
• Refer patients to other departments as advised by the senior, after consulting the consultant
• Seek immediate help from consultants when the clinical situation demands it
• Participate in clinical audits and attend departmental meetings
• Follow quality, environment and safety management system requirements and ethical and professional standards
• Adhere to hospital policies and cooperate with colleagues on health and safety matters
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Head of Department

Required profile

• MBBS degree and house job completed
• Good knowledge of basic medical concepts, clinical procedures and practices, and of taking and documenting medical histories
• Fluent communication in English and Urdu, written and spoken
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office
