Medical Officer – Dialysis

About the role

The Medical Officer – Dialysis will join Surgimed Hospital’s dialysis unit in Lahore, delivering direct clinical care to patients undergoing renal replacement therapy. Working full‑time on‑site, you will support nephrologists and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high‑quality dialysis services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑ and post‑dialysis assessments, monitor patients during treatment, and manage acute and chronic renal complications.
• Review laboratory and imaging results, adjust treatment plans, and document patient care accurately.
• Educate patients and families about dialysis procedures, lifestyle modifications, and long‑term disease management.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, nurses, and technical staff to maintain adherence to clinical protocols and infection‑control standards.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, audits, and safety reviews within the dialysis unit.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid registration and completion of house job.
• Experience in nephrology or dialysis services is strongly preferred.
• Strong patient‑centered communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in performing dialysis procedures and managing fluid‑electrolyte balance.
• Knowledge of infection prevention, dialysis safety protocols, and relevant clinical guidelines.
• Basic competence with hospital information systems and electronic medical records.
