MEP Engineer - QA/QC Inspection and Supervision

About the role

Bureau Veritas is hiring a permanent MEP Engineer in Lahore to supervise mechanical works and inspect MEP installations and designs in line with project specifications. The role sits in the BNI department and reports to the Operations Manager / Team Leader.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical works and carry out technical inspection of MEP installation and design
• Perform QC visual inspections and carry out FAT and SAT third-party inspections
• Witness and commission MEP equipment according to the approved ITP
• Carry out condition assessments, due diligence and snagging inspections, and prepare and follow up on snagging lists
• Review and appraise inspection procedures and identify non-conformities with corrective actions
• Produce weekly/monthly reports on MEP QA/QC inspection status, NCRs and SDRs
• Carry out GAP analysis of MEP and firefighting systems against ASHRAE and NFPA standards
• Maintain regular contact with clients, promote the Bureau Veritas service portfolio and complete business information such as invoicing and timesheets

Required profile

• Mechanical or electrical engineering degree
• At least 3 years of experience in MEP design, MEP QA/QC engineering and site supervision
• Specialty in site inspection and QA/QC supervision
• Familiarity with local authority requirements such as Civil Defence, LDA and municipalities

Required skills

• Knowledge of international standards such as BS, ASME, ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA and IEC
• Ability to select and apply the most appropriate inspection techniques and to interpret inspection results
• NFPA and ASHRAE certification, ISO 9001 internal audit course and quality management system training
• Strong commitment to HSE, including the authority to stop unsafe work
