MEP Shop Drawing Draftsman – HVAC & Plumbing

About the role

Al Rakan Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Shop Drawing Draftsman to produce accurate, construction‑ready shop drawings for HVAC and plumbing systems on building projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC and plumbing shop drawings using AutoCAD 2D, including ductwork, ventilation, chilled‑water piping, water supply and drainage.
• Develop plans, sections, elevations, riser diagrams and installation details based on consultant IFC/design drawings.
• Coordinate MEP services with architectural, structural and other MEP disciplines, identifying clashes and discrepancies before submission.
• Incorporate consultant comments, update as‑built drawings and ensure all drawings meet required standards and are suitable for construction.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in building MEP shop drawing production, specifically HVAC and plumbing.
• Strong hands‑on experience with high‑rise, residential, hotel, mixed‑use or commercial projects, preferably in the UAE/Dubai.
• Ability to read and interpret IFC/design drawings independently and produce detailed shop drawings with minimal supervision.
