OpenShift Virtualization Administrator

About the role

The OpenShift Virtualization Administrator will manage and optimise containerised and virtualised workloads on Red Hat OpenShift platforms. You will bridge traditional virtualization with cloud‑native environments, ensuring high availability, automation and seamless integration across the infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure and maintain Red Hat OpenShift Virtualisation (KubeVirt) environments.
• Deploy, monitor and support virtual machines within OpenShift clusters.
• Manage Linux systems (RHEL) – installation, patching, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automated application and infrastructure delivery.
• Create and manage automation workflows using Ansible.
• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate virtualisation solutions into cloud‑native architectures.
• Monitor system health, resolve incidents and ensure service uptime.
• Implement security best practices, access controls and compliance standards.
• Support scaling, backup strategies and disaster‑recovery planning.

Required profile

• Strong experience as a Linux Administrator, preferably RHEL.
• Hands‑on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualisation (KubeVirt) and container platforms.
• Proven ability to build and manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar).
• Solid experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Good understanding of virtualization concepts, containers and Kubernetes architecture.
• Experience with system monitoring, logging and troubleshooting tools.
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as DNS, load balancing and VLANs in containerised environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
