Oracle Developer - Assistant Manager

About the role

EFU Life Assurance Ltd. is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager - Oracle Developer to join its technology team in Karachi. The role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining Oracle-based applications and database systems to support business operations. Although it does not involve managing a team, the Assistant Manager works closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyse system needs and implement solutions that optimise database performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Oracle database objects such as stored procedures, functions, packages and triggers using PL/SQL
• Tune and optimise database performance to ensure high availability and reliability of applications
• Analyse and model data structures to support efficient storage and retrieval of data
• Develop and enhance Oracle Forms and Reports applications for data transactions and reporting
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to turn requirements into technical specifications
• Review code and test applications to ensure quality, security and compliance with industry standards
• Resolve technical issues related to databases and Oracle applications quickly to minimise downtime
• Maintain documentation of development activities, technical designs and standard operating procedures
• Support database migration and upgrade activities and recommend improvements based on knowledge of current Oracle technologies

Required profile

• At least three years of hands-on experience with Oracle Database technologies
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field
• Ability to write efficient, scalable code while ensuring data accuracy and security
