PHP Engineer – Remote Contractor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced PHP Engineer to work remotely on an hourly paid basis. You will review AI‑generated PHP code, backend designs, and technical explanations, producing high‑quality reference implementations and detailed reasoning for complex engineering problems.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts and reference answers across PHP/backend topics to train AI models.
• Evaluate, rank, and provide feedback on AI responses, focusing on correctness, security, performance, and readability.
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe practices, and potential biases, ensuring reliability in real‑world use cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience developing production backend systems in modern PHP (7.4/8.x+).
• Strong English proficiency (C1) with the ability to write clear technical explanations.

Required skills

• Modern PHP (OOP, strict typing, namespaces, Composer).
• Experience with major frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
• Deep knowledge of HTTP, REST, authentication/authorization, caching, queues, and API design.
• Database expertise (MySQL/PostgreSQL) including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10, input validation, SQL injection, XSS, CSRF).
• Version control, CI/CD workflows, and automated testing (PHPUnit, integration tests).
