Plant Manager – Lithium-ion Battery Assembly Plant

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to lead the setup and launch of a new lithium‑ion battery assembly facility. The role combines technical expertise in battery or electro‑mechanical manufacturing with hands‑on plant commissioning and operational leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, set up, and operationally launch the lithium‑ion battery assembly plant.
- Support selection, procurement, and installation of machinery, tools, test equipment and utilities.
- Coordinate layout finalisation, equipment installation and commissioning with suppliers and contractors.
- Develop assembly processes, workstation design, production flow, SOPs and work instructions.
- Establish production planning, material handling, inventory control, line balancing and output monitoring systems.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations to meet safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery targets.
- Implement quality control and testing procedures for incoming materials, in‑process checks and final verification.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and electrical regulations.
- Build, train and supervise plant staff including supervisors, technicians and operators.
- Monitor machine performance, maintenance needs and downtime, driving reliability improvements.
- Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives on yield, cycle time, waste reduction and cost optimisation.
- Maintain production records, maintenance logs, quality reports, SOPs and audit readiness.
- Provide regular progress updates and operational reports to senior management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 8–15 years of manufacturing or assembly experience, preferably in batteries, power electronics or automotive components.
- 3–5 years in a leadership role with proven plant‑setup or commissioning experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, plant utilities, machinery selection and preventive maintenance.
