Project Associate – Protection

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support the implementation and monitoring of protection projects in Pakistan. The role works under the Programme Coordinator (Protection) and directly with the Protection Officer, providing essential administrative and financial coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
• Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present data on specific project topics.
• Monitor the project budget, verify fund availability, obtain approvals, and update budget information.
• Act as the focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external partners to initiate requests, obtain clearances, and follow up on actions.
• Draft status reports, identify delivery shortfalls, and propose remedial actions.
• Prepare and update correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, and statistical tables related to the project.

Required profile

• Open to internal and external candidates.
• Internal candidates must meet IOM’s definition (regular, fixed‑term, short‑term graded or ungraded contracts, JPOs, staff on special leave, UN Volunteers with 12 months continuous service, or staff on secondment/loan).
