Project Management Support Specialist

About the role

UNOPS Pakistan is looking for a Project Management Support Specialist to support the development of critical infrastructure projects within the UN system. The role ensures the successful delivery of multiple ongoing initiatives by helping bridge resource gaps and facilitate project implementation, contributing to the office's operational efficiency and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive project management support to ongoing projects, keeping them on plan, timeline and budget, and assist the Project Management Infrastructure Support Specialist in coordinating activities, resources and information flow.
• Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including internal teams, partners and beneficiaries, and support the preparation and review of work plans, progress reports and financial statements.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, prepare regular status reports and presentations, and ensure compliance with UNOPS policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Assist in developing project budgets and organizing project review meetings and follow-up on action points.
• Help draft technical proposals, prepare budgets, coordinate with technical experts, and follow up with clients after submission.
• Build relationships with UN agencies, government partners and other organizations, and represent UNOPS at meetings and conferences.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records, contribute to knowledge management tools, and prepare regular progress reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7 years of relevant experience; a Master's degree in Project Management, Business Administration or a related field is desired.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, project assessment or a related field.
• Desired: experience with UN agencies or international organizations, and experience in infrastructure or construction projects.
