P&U Electrical Testing & ATEX Team Lead

About the role

The P&U Electrical Testing & ATEX Team Lead will head the execution of advanced electrical testing and inspection projects for power and utilities assets. Reporting to the Head of Power & Utilities – Industry Pakistan, the role combines technical expertise with client interaction to ensure safe, reliable operation of transformers, motors, generators, protection relays, circuit breakers and cables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical testing projects across the Power & Utilities sector, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Review, approve and supervise testing procedures, method statements and technical reports.
• Perform and oversee transformer, motor, generator, relay, circuit‑breaker and cable testing, including advanced diagnostics such as partial discharge, VLF, DRA and condition monitoring.
• Interface with clients for technical discussions, project coordination and presentation of findings.
• Support business development through technical proposals, solution design and identification of new service lines.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, and ensure proper documentation and HSE compliance.

Required profile

• BE in Electrical Engineering.
• IEC Ex certification with hands‑on experience in ATEX inspections.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in advanced electrical testing and primary asset diagnostics.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE and NETA standards.

Required skills

• Advanced Electrical Testing (Partial Discharge, SFRA, VLF, DRA, C&DF).
• Transformer testing (TTR, WR, SFRA, IR, C&DF).
• Motor and generator testing (IR, WR, PD, MCSA, MCA).
• Protection relay testing and commissioning.
• Circuit‑breaker testing (timing, contact resistance, functional checks).
• Cable testing (VLF, PD diagnostics).
• Condition monitoring and failure analysis.
• Use of Omicron CPC100, CMC356, MPD600, Megger and Fluke equipment.
