Quantity Surveyor – BOQ Specialist

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead the preparation and management of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) across a range of construction projects. You will work closely with clients, architects and contractors to ensure accurate cost estimation and effective budget control.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various construction projects.
• Analyse drawings and specifications in detail to produce comprehensive BOQs.
• Evaluate contractor and subcontractor tenders, negotiate where appropriate and provide recommendations for approval.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenditures and ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Advise on contractual claims and disputes, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with clients and architects to keep all parties informed of cost implications.
• Assist in project planning and scheduling to support timely delivery.
• Review project plans and specifications for accuracy and completeness.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically handling BOQ.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional certification or membership with a recognized institution (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is preferred.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work on‑site and travel as required.
