Residence Life and Transportation Manager

About the role

The Residence Life and Transportation Manager leads the operational delivery of on‑campus housing and student transport services at NIT. The role ensures safety, satisfaction and wellbeing for students while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise residence life assistants and outsourced transport staff, ensuring professional conduct and safety compliance.
• Oversee day‑to‑day residence operations: room allocation, occupancy management, move‑in/move‑out processes, and emergency response.
• Enforce residence policies, handle student complaints, and manage escalation of accommodation issues.
• Coordinate transport arrangements for university events, field trips and official activities, and resolve transport‑related complaints.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets for both residence and transport functions.
• Develop and review policies related to student accommodation, transport services and campus safety.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, Facilities and Student Engagement to align service delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Facility Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operations, transport or facility management.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Relevant certifications in fleet or facility management are an advantage.
