Senior Accountant / Client Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Client Manager to lead a portfolio of UK‑based clients. The role combines high‑level accounting, tax advisory and client relationship management while mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of UK clients, providing proactive accounting and tax advice and serving as the primary point of contact.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, corporation tax (CT600), VAT and self‑assessment returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and UK accounting standards (FRS 102, FRS 105).
• Oversee payroll processing, PAYE, National Insurance and employer‑related obligations such as pension auto‑enrollment.
• Assist clients with financial reporting, management accounts, cash‑flow forecasting and tax planning.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior accountants, reviewing their work for accuracy.
• Implement efficiency and automation improvements using cloud‑based software.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, ATT or equivalent UK accounting/tax qualification.
• 5–13 years of relevant experience in UK accounting and taxation.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, HMRC regulations and UK tax compliance.
• Previous client‑facing experience within an accounting practice.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
