Senior Auditor – Wholesale Audit

About the role

The Senior Auditor – Wholesale Audit will lead audit engagements for wholesale credit risk, corporate and investment banking products, and regulatory compliance within Mashreq Bank. Reporting to senior internal audit leadership, the role ensures high‑quality audit reports, validates action plans, and drives the use of technology and data analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the annual audit plan for assigned business units, adhering to internal audit standards, government regulations, and bank policies.
• Lead and mentor a small‑to‑medium team of internal audit professionals, managing budgets and timelines.
• Deliver timely, high‑quality audit reports and validate internal audit action plans.
• Supervise off‑site and on‑site review functions, identify risks early, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assign accurate risk ratings and monitor the closure of action‑plan items.
• Develop strong relationships with senior line management and influence internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of internal audit standards, wholesale credit risk, corporate & investment banking products, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to assess and respond to changing risk environments.
• Excellent communication, judgment, and political astuteness.
• Experience leading audit teams and managing complex audit assignments.
