Senior Cost Accountant - Construction Sector Expertise

About the role

The Senior Cost Accountant will lead cost management for construction, real‑estate and housing society projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The role combines deep construction sector knowledge with strong analytical and leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed cost accounting records for all construction‑related projects.
• Lead a team of three cost‑accounting professionals, providing guidance and ensuring timely deliverables.
• Analyze financial data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
• Prepare comprehensive cost reports, variance analyses and forecasts tailored to project needs.
• Collaborate with engineers and design teams using AutoCAD and 3‑D modeling tools to integrate cost data with project specifications.
• Oversee adherence to company financial policies, statutory requirements and audit processes.
• Manage project cash‑flow, vendor payments and reconciliation of accounts.
• Utilize AWS Cost Explorer and advanced MS Excel techniques for cost optimization and financial planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of cost accounting experience in construction, real‑estate or housing projects.
• Qualified as Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) or Cost and Management Accountant (ICMA).
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead a small finance team.
