Senior Field Engineer

About the role

I.T Men is looking for a full-time, on-site Senior Field Engineer based in Karachi. The role delivers advanced technical support and field service across client locations, covering networking equipment, servers, WiFi systems, VOIP/IP telephony and related infrastructure. It is a hands-on position involving installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain networking equipment, servers, WiFi systems, VOIP/IP telephony and related infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and carry out preventive maintenance to keep client systems running with minimal downtime.
• Lead on-site projects and coordinate with internal teams and clients.
• Document work performed and give clear technical guidance and training to client stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ways to improve service quality and system reliability.

Required profile

• Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for networking, servers, WiFi and telephony systems.
• Solid field service experience, including on-site installation, configuration and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
• Effective communication skills for working with clients, documenting issues and collaborating with internal teams.
• Project management capability to plan, prioritize and execute field assignments and small implementation projects.
• Ability to work independently in the field, manage time efficiently and adapt to changing client needs.
• A relevant technical certification or diploma/degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with internet management, VOIP/IP telephony and cloud-based WiFi solutions is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of server operating systems, networking protocols and basic power or renewable energy systems is an advantage.
