Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Nysonian is seeking a senior engineer to own and evolve its internal systems, from production infrastructure to the internal CRM and AI‑agent automation tooling. This high‑autonomy role requires you to identify problems, design solutions, and drive them to completion while raising engineering standards across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture and long‑term health of the internal CRM platform, including debugging complex data issues, feature development, and integration with Shopify and other third‑party APIs.
• Design, implement, and maintain production infrastructure on AWS and Linux, covering networking, SSL/TLS, load balancers, DNS, and database administration for PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Architect and build MCP servers and automation tooling that enable AI agents to interact securely with CRM, databases, and external systems, and set the company’s automation strategy.
• Lead incident response, conduct root‑cause analyses, and drive post‑mortem improvements while communicating with stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers, define documentation standards, and own Git and CI/CD workflow strategies.

Required profile

• 4+ years building and maintaining backend systems (NestJS/Node.js) in production SaaS environments.
• Deep hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, ALB, S3, IAM, VPC) and expert‑level Linux server administration.
• Strong networking expertise, including DNS, TLS/SSL, reverse proxies, firewalls, and load‑balancer routing.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB, covering schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Proven track record of automation and scripting at scale using Bash, Python, or Node.js, and familiarity with AI‑agent tooling or rapid learning ability.
