Senior Hardware Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of STEAM educational kits and robotics projects. The role involves hands‑on design, rapid prototyping, and collaboration with software and product teams to deliver reliable, cost‑effective hardware solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise electronic hardware for educational kits and robotics.
• Perform soldering, troubleshooting, and repair of circuits and components.
• Assemble robots, electronic kits, and custom hardware according to project specifications.
• Integrate microcontrollers and development boards such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32.
• Interface sensors, actuators, and communication modules using I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
• Create rapid prototypes and oversee PCB schematic and layout design.
• Coordinate PCB fabrication, assembly, and vendor procurement.
• Maintain hardware inventory, documentation, and vendor relationships.
• Supervise junior engineers and ensure project timelines are met.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
• Hands‑on expertise in circuit design, soldering, and troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to work with microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols.
• Experience supervising junior team members and managing procurement.

Required skills

• PCB design tools: Altium, KiCad, Proteus, Eagle.
• Microcontroller platforms: Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32.
• Communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART.
• Electronics circuit design and rapid prototyping.
