Senior Human Resources Assistant (G6)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Human Resources Assistant (G6) to support its mission in Pakistan. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Head of Resources Management, the incumbent will play a key role in recruitment, onboarding, and HR data management, ensuring smooth HR operations across the office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating staffing needs and coordinate the full recruitment cycle, including drafting Terms of Reference, posting vacancy notices, screening applications, and preparing interview protocols.
• Conduct written tests, participate in interview panels, draft assessment forms, perform reference checks, and prepare job offers.
• Manage the recruitment mailbox and provide guidance to hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
• Coordinate pre‑employment activities such as Entry on Duty documentation, medical examinations, insurance enrollment, induction sessions, and security briefings.
• Maintain and verify data in the organizational HR system, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and verify eligibility for allowances.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration within an international or UN‑type organization.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior managers and collaborate with headquarters and administrative centres.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS) for data entry and maintenance.
