Senior Primary Design Engineer

About the role

Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead the engineering design of high‑voltage (HV) substations. You will deliver high‑quality design solutions throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop primary engineering designs for HV substation projects, including Single Line Diagrams, general layouts, equipment layouts, earthing and lightning protection designs, cable engineering, and control interface diagrams.
• Prepare material estimations and Bills of Quantities for primary equipment.
• Review civil and structural drawings for compatibility with engineering requirements.
• Conduct site visits to validate technical designs and support engineering activities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and project execution teams to ensure design consistency.
• Support customer design reviews and approval processes.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in primary engineering design, preferably in HV substations.
• Proven experience preparing design deliverables for transmission and distribution projects.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
