Senior Software Engineer (ShopDev)

About the role

Shopdev is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Lahore. The role seeks an AI-native full-stack engineer who uses agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and similar harnesses to build software much faster than conventional approaches. Candidates must orchestrate AI agents, provide context, break down complex problems, evaluate generated code and accelerate the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Use Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or equivalent tools as a core part of daily development, and build and deploy end-to-end products covering frontend, backend, databases, integrations and infrastructure.
• Orchestrate AI agents for implementation, refactoring, debugging, testing and documentation, and break complex tasks into agent-executable workflows.
• Design and build scalable, secure, maintainable full-stack applications, and critically evaluate AI-generated implementations.
• Work with product and design teams, demonstrate prototypes early, and communicate technical decisions and progress in English.

Required profile

• Demonstrable hands-on experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or comparable autonomous coding harnesses, beyond snippets and autocomplete.
• Ability to structure prompts, provide repository context, configure agent instructions and guide multi-step tasks.
• Experience building real applications with coding agents, including debugging, automated testing, refactoring and codebase exploration.
• Ability to validate, review and improve AI-generated code, and to judge whether an AI-generated solution is production-ready.
• Strong full-stack engineering experience, with a portfolio of working applications built mainly through agentic workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Required skills

• Frontend: React.js, Next.js or equivalent modern frameworks.
• Backend: Node.js, Python or comparable technologies.
• System design, APIs, databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), and distributed applications.
• Cloud infrastructure, Docker, CI/CD and production deployment.
