About the role
The Senior Solar Design Engineer will lead the technical design of commercial and industrial photovoltaic projects from concept through installation and performance assessment. The role works closely with the sales team to produce accurate proposals that meet client requirements while ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
Key responsibilities
- Design solar PV systems using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Helioscope and PVsyst, producing layouts, single‑line diagrams and bills of quantities.
- Conduct site surveys, load and shading analyses to optimise system performance and energy yield.
- Collaborate with sales to develop competitive proposals and with procurement and construction teams to maintain design integrity.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and performance calculations for project approval.
- Provide engineering support during installation and commissioning, resolving technical issues on site.
