Solar Design Engineer – PV Design & Permit Packages

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Solar Design Engineer to create complete solar PV design and permit packages for U.S.-based clients. The role involves developing IFA and IFC documents, designing AC/DC systems, and coordinating with project teams while working on U.S. business hours from Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare full solar PV design and permit packages, including IFA and IFC documents.
• Create site plans, equipment layouts, roof plans, array layouts, and single‑line diagrams.
• Perform conductor sizing, voltage‑drop calculations, equipment sizing, and other electrical design calculations.
• Design AC and DC systems, specifying inverters, combiner panels, disconnects, meters, and interconnection points.
• Review site surveys, architectural drawings, utility information, and client requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, utility standards, AHJ requirements, and project specifications.
• Address comments from clients, utilities, and permitting authorities.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, drafters, and QA/QC reviewers.
• Support design revisions, redline incorporation, construction updates, and as‑built drawings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of solar PV design experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience preparing solar permit sets and IFA/IFC packages.
• Understanding of solar PV equipment and electrical interconnection requirements.
• Familiarity with U.S. electrical codes, utility standards, and permitting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
