Systems Administrator (AVP) – Exchange & Internet Security

About the role

National Bank of Pakistan is hiring a Systems Administrator (AVP) in Karachi for its Information Technology unit, reporting to the Unit Head of AD, Exchange & Internet Security and the Unit Head of Systems Administration (Windows). The role covers the deployment, administration and maintenance of Exchange, Windows Server and Active Directory environments, and the bank's messaging infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and manage large deployments of Microsoft Exchange (2016 and higher), Windows Server (2016 and higher), Active Directory, IIS, spam/anti-virus filtering and clustering
• Analyze technical problems and deploy centralized policies in line with bank policy
• Resolve anti-virus and messaging issues and provide on-site troubleshooting for Exchange and AD/Internet Security
• Monitor server performance, run diagnostics, manage backups, monitor message queues and track non-deliveries
• Ensure system security, patching, integrity, availability and disaster recovery compliance
• Support storage management, performance tuning, monitoring and capacity planning, and plan hardware/software licenses
• Manage vendor SOPS, SLAs and renewals, and coordinate with team members and stakeholders

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering, or a master's degree, from a university recognized by the HEC of Pakistan
• Relevant certifications preferred
• At least 6 years of IT experience, including 3 years in systems administration or a related field, preferably in a bank

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with MS Exchange (2019 and higher) and Office 365
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP and web proxy servers such as Sophos and Barracuda
• Understanding of cluster, high availability and Exchange replication technologies
• Expertise in mobile device management and virtualization (Hyper-V and VMware)
• Basic PowerShell scripting
