Systems & Cloud Engineer – Hybrid IT Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Systems & Cloud Engineer to manage and optimise our hybrid IT environment. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of on‑premises and cloud resources, ensuring high availability, security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer on‑premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including user accounts, groups, GPOs and synchronization.
• Install, configure, patch and monitor Windows Server and Linux servers.
• Manage Azure resources (VMs, Storage, Backup, Site Recovery) and AWS services (EC2, S3, Backup, IAM).
• Configure and test backup and disaster‑recovery solutions using Azure Backup, AWS Backup, Veeam or similar.
• Deploy and maintain endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune and SCCM.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for infrastructure, cloud and identity issues.
• Administer virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper‑V) and optimise virtual machine performance.
• Set up monitoring and alerting with SCOM, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch or equivalent.
• Troubleshoot networking components including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs and firewall policies.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline routine tasks.

Required profile

• Hands‑on professional with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting both Windows and Linux server environments.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures and identity management.
• Ability to work independently and follow documented operational procedures.
