Team Lead – SMD

About the role

The SMD Team Lead is responsible for leading a shift‑based team of Equipment Owners on the production floor. The role focuses on achieving daily, weekly and monthly production targets while applying RTT and IWS tools to minimise downtime and ensure product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and control shift operations to meet Master Production Schedule targets.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, deploy core crew, and reduce both planned and unplanned downtime.
• Drive process reliability initiatives and lead root‑cause investigations for chronic stops.
• Create and manage PM cards and provide performance feedback to IWS/Technical teams.
• Coach and develop Equipment Owners, support multiskilling, and oversee personnel systems such as skill matrices and training plans.
• Liaise with Process Lead, other module leaders, and external contractors to ensure seamless shift execution.
• Execute the shift DDS process with 100% compliance and act as the single point of contact for the shift team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a production team on the shop floor.
• Strong understanding of RTT, IWS and related manufacturing methodologies.
• Ability to analyse performance data, drive continuous improvement and manage cross‑functional collaboration.
• Excellent coaching skills to develop team capability and promote multiskilling.
