Team Leader, Trade Operations - Import & Export

About the role

Faysal Bank Ltd is looking for an experienced Team Leader for Trade Operations specializing in import and export, based in Lahore. The successful candidate will lead a team of 10 professionals and oversee daily operations so that import-export activities comply with global trade regulations and documentation is handled efficiently. The role also acts as the main point of contact for regulatory and compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 10 trade operations specialists handling import and export transactions within the bank.
• Ensure strict compliance with global trade regulations, export control laws and regulatory standards to minimize risk.
• Oversee the preparation, verification and management of import-export documentation, including bills of lading, shipping documents and customs paperwork.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Conduct regular team training and development sessions on trade compliance and operational excellence.
• Monitor team performance, set clear goals and give continuous feedback.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve transactional and compliance issues quickly.
• Stay updated on changes in global trade regulations and advise management on process adjustments.
• Review and approve trade transaction reports before submission.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline import-export workflows.

Required profile

• Strong background in trade compliance management, import-export documentation and regulatory standards.
• Leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of trade operations within a banking environment.
