Technology Manager – SRE & Observability Engineer

About the role

The SRE Observability Engineer is responsible for ensuring reliability, availability, scalability and performance of critical systems and applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional digital squads to deliver proactive monitoring and tracing capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, operations and stakeholders to define monitoring requirements, KPIs and performance goals.
• Design, develop and implement observability frameworks, tools and processes for comprehensive logging, tracing and metrics collection.
• Manage and operate monitoring platforms such as AppDynamics, DataDog, Splunk, ELK and Sentry.
• Provide timely performance reports, trend analysis and recommendations for code and infrastructure optimisations.
• Guide and train internal teams on best practices for APM and application performance optimisation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and applications.
• 3‑5 years hands‑on experience with observability and CI/CD pipelines.
• 2 years programming experience in Java or related technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud (Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong communication skills to align organisation on technical decisions.
