Trainee Engineer – Roads & Highways (Uthal, Pakistan)

About the role

SMEC is seeking a motivated Trainee Engineer to join its Roads and Highways project in Uthal, Balochistan. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on exposure to civil engineering works on highways, bridges, and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in monitoring and inspecting highway works, including pavements, embankments, and bridges.
• Support site documentation and preparation of field reports.
• Coordinate with contractors and sub‑contractors to resolve technical queries.
• Assist in material approvals and verification processes.
• Participate in site meetings and provide updates to senior engineers.
• Perform day‑to‑day site and office tasks to aid project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Strong willingness to learn and gain practical experience in highway and infrastructure projects.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Track record of achievement in a related consultancy environment is advantageous.
