Trainee NOC Engineer

About the role

Veevo Tech is seeking a Trainee NOC Engineer to support its IT operations and network infrastructure. The role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and on‑site support to ensure high availability of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, implement and maintain routers, switches, firewalls and access points.
• Identify and resolve network, hardware and system issues to minimise downtime.
• Monitor performance of IT platforms, manage capacity and respond to alerts using NOC tools.
• Provide 24/7 engineering support, including on‑site assistance during odd hours.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers, and handle backups and disaster‑recovery tasks.
• Oversee data‑center power, cooling and environmental stability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience in network or system support, preferably in a NOC environment.
• Willingness to work in shifts and provide on‑call support.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching.
• Hands‑on configuration experience with Cisco, MikroTik or Ubiquiti devices.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper‑V or VMware vSphere.
• Familiarity with backups, RAID concepts and basic data‑center operations.
• Preferred certifications: CCNA or CompTIA Network+.
