TypeScript Engineer (Remote, Hourly Contractor)

About the role

SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate that supplies AI training data to large AI companies and foundation model labs, is hiring a remote TypeScript Engineer on an hourly paid basis. There is no immediate project, but qualified candidates will be among the first experts contacted when relevant opportunities arise, with access to future projects through the expert network.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI-generated TypeScript code snippets, design proposals and technical explanations, and generate your own high-quality content and reference solutions.
• Evaluate step-by-step reasoning and problem-solving, checking solutions for correctness, clarity and adherence to the prompt.
• Identify errors in logic, type modeling or architectural thinking, and fact-check technical information.
• Craft clear explanations and model solutions that show correct approaches.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on reasoning quality and implementation soundness.
• Create detailed prompts and responses to guide AI learning, optimise AI performance by ranking responses, and test models for inaccuracies or biases.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional TypeScript experience.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Minimum C1 English (written and spoken), with strong ability to follow detailed technical guidelines.
• Good to have: merged PRs in TypeScript-based open-source projects, competitive programming experience, experience reviewing typed API layers, DTOs or schema-driven designs, and prior exposure to AI data training or annotation projects.

Required skills

• TypeScript, including advanced type manipulation, generics, interfaces and utility types.
• A major frontend framework (React, Angular or Vue.js) or a backend runtime (Node.js with Express or NestJS).
• OOP, functional programming concepts and common software design patterns.
• Git and standard version control workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).
• Familiarity with modern build tools such as Webpack, Vite or Babel.
